11/29/04: Tribal Update: They've Got the Book of Acts!
Hello Folks:
Just want to let you know that two more planes of food and medicine went into Tribal land on Saturday, as well as our mission nurse, Brenda Barkman. She will be in there for ten days. Thanks so much for praying for her, that she will have wisdom in helping the Tribal medically and also as she gives additional training to our Venezuelan co-workers in there. Be praying too that some of the Tribal themselves would have a real interest in learning how to help their people medically.
GOOD NEWS: there haven't been any more deaths that have been reported since the last Tribal Update. Thanks so much for praying!!!
And hey, they got the book of Acts in their language!! In the pictures we sent, you see our print shop team, Phill and Marie Smet, working on the books. Well, these books have been shipped out to Tribal land and the readers there are enjoying the history of the early church. The books have words on the cover that say, "The Words regarding what Jesus' Sent-Ones did a long time ago". ("Jesus' sent-ones" is the Tribal way of saying "apostle")
Okay, all for now. Thanks again so much for praying and partnering with us. And a big thanks too for all those that have helped out to get food and medicine and medical people into Tribal land to give our brothers and sisters a hand.
We head down south to Santa Barbara, California after spending an early, white Christmas with my folks here in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Jodi returns from Israel on December 11 so we will be spending Christmas with her too Lord willing. Thanks for praying for her as she makes her way back. Okay, that is it!
Enjoying the adventure in Christ,
Merrill and Teresa
