07/22/04: Tribal update: Zonia

Hello Folks:

Many of you have been praying for Zonia, whose mother fell on her back in April when some angry dogs attacked her. This dear little girl has had two surgeries since then. But PTL, I just visited with someone this morning in Venezuela and the word is that they are back in Tribal land and that Zonia is doing well. Thanks so much for praying.

Thanks too for praying for the family of Emiliana, who continue to cope with the death of their son. Here he had been healthy and strong and out hunting anteater. When he returned, he suddenly died. He was only about 20 years of age. He had no wife or kids that we know of but his mom and dad and brothers and sisters have definitely grieved. Thanks for praying. Pray that God's grace will continue to abound and that they will continue to think Biblically in all these matters. How the Enemy would love to get them back into the old traditional bondage.

And thanks for your continued prayers for Hernan too. I haven't heard any more but please, continue to pray for him. Satan would really like to discourage this key Bible teacher and shut him down. He has played such an important role in teaching the Word, encouraging others, guiding the leaders, and discipling others. And so it is hard not to be there with him to encourage him....but how thankful we are that he has the "true Spirit" living within him and the "true words from the true God". Let's continue to pray that this dear brother will not be sidetracked with having eaten stolen pig meat that his brother gave him during tough times, but rather make things right, and continue on in ministry, reveling in the wonderful grace of God.

We continue to enjoy our time of Home Assignment here in California. What joy it is to meat with the many believers and hang out with family. Yes, we are enjoying our time here. We head up to British Columbia, Canada toward the end of August after a trip down to Mexico to encourage some believers there....and see friends.
