04/24/03: Tribal Discipleship Update

Hello Everyone:

Here are just a few pictures to let you see a little of what transpired and who we were working with. We had two families to work with for the first three weeks and then five more leaders joined us, flying in by plane, a first for most of them. So yes, we hung out with the Tribal people pretty well all day, doing teaching in the mornings, having translation and Bible curriculum checking in the afternoons, and then having more informal meetings in the evening. We ate most of our meals together, had many relaxing times just chatting and worshipping and catching up, and just basically lots of hanging out together. We really enjoyed such delicacies as alligator, fish, iguana, and much great garden produce from the local people. Yes, it was truly a great time. God did many great things. Will give you more of the details later. Just wanted to get these pictures to you and thank you for praying for us and the Tribal leaders. What a total treat to be able to hang out with them.

And first thing tomorrow morning, we are off to Asuncion, Paraguay to attend a church planting seminar. The Lord has wonderfully provided for us to make this trip and it seems like it will be a real blessing as there will be a lot of discussion about discipleship in a 24/7 context so it will be right down our alley.

Okay, thanks for your encouragement and prayers.

Enjoying the adventure in Him,
Merrill and Teresa
